I’m originally from Louisiana, but I have lived all over the country and a few spots abroad. I majored in history and Spanish and minored in French at Lyon College, a small liberal arts school in rural Arkansas. After that I came to KU and completed a Master's in medieval history with minors in women’s history and Latin American history. I finished my Ph.D. coursework and exams for medieval history here as well, but life had different plans for me. I stopped at ABD and ventured into advising after years of teaching.
I love dogs, reading, traveling, camping and fishing, dancing, finding the best Mexican food around, beading, and I’ve played roller derby for five years. I also love telling and hearing stories, so come share with me! I will be advising students with last names A-K. My office is in Chalmers 358, and I will have drop-in hours on Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. I can help with course planning, figuring out obstacles that may pop up during the semester, finding resources for travel and internships, and more. If there’s a question I can’t answer, I’ll help you find the person who can. Make an appointment through Jayhawk GPS or by calling 864-3500.
