Art & Culture Intern - Informality
The mission of Informality is to take the talk about art in Kansas City and put it online. Functioning not just as an archive but as a catalyst encouraging contributors to openly submit everything from cell phone photos to essays encapsulating a wide range of perspectives from the community. Through our writing and public programming, we make the conversation about art and culture in Kansas City informal and informative.
We are currently focusing on new initiatives that are expanding our public programming and testing out new forms of art criticism.
Potential tasks and learning opportunities:
• Art writing
• Event planning
• Marketing
• Web development (with Wordpress)
• Graphic design (zines and promo materials)
• Video editing
• Lighting/sound/film production
• Reporting
We're looking to work with students who are interested in nonfiction arts writing, contemporary theory and/or arts criticism. Interns will be producing critical art writings, locally published design and media work, and gain a hands-on experience of publication management in conjunction with editorial staff at Informality.
Please contact the team via editor@informalityblog.com with specific areas of interest and to set up an interview with our staff.
