What are your plans for the future?

My plans for the future are to teach, choreograph, and perform with a professional company. One day, I plan to own my own studio.

Describe a defining moment in your time in the School of the Arts.

A defining moment for me would be attending KU Dance Career Week in Chicago. Being surrounded by so many dancers and having the opportunity to take different classes was inspiring. It also helped me grow as a dancer and learn how to network. My confidence grew a lot from this opportunity.

What has influenced your creativity here at KU?

Choreography classes with Patrick Suzeau have influenced my creativity the most. Patrick's classes challenged me to explore movement outside of my preferred dance style and comfortability. I also learned how to take and apply critiques from my peers. In 2019, I was cast in a hip-hop piece for the UDC concert by Maya Tillman-Rayton. Before this piece, I had never taken a hip-hop class. This opportunity inspired me to not be afraid to try new things and appreciate being out of my comfort zone.
